Native Home:  The LEOPARD TORTOISE is found in the savannas of eastern and southern Africa, from Sudan to the southern Cape.

Size:  Typical adult LEOPARD TORTOISES can reach 16 in and weighing 29 lbs. An exceptionally large tortoise may reach 28 in and weigh 88 lbs.

Diet: The LEOPARD TORTOISES are herbivores. Primarily, their diets consist of many types of grasses and plants, high in fiber and very low in protein. Flowers and other plants including cactus pads can be consumed

Reproduction:  LEOPARD TORTOISES are egg layers. Clutches may contain anywhere from 5 to 30 eggs. It can take 5 to 14 months for them to hatch.

Lifespan: The LEOPARD TORTOISE lifespan in captivity can range from ‎50 and 100 years in the wild.
